This glorious boot-shaped peninsula of rugged land, which seems to float in the Mediterranean, extends south from the Alps. Its great cities have contributed to Western culture over many centuries. Before tou begin your driver/guided tour, let us help you plan it.
Some of our clients start in the north -- in Venice, where we can meet you, perhaps after you have had a day or two to enjoy taking the gondolas and visiting the city's many delights! Places nearby -- such as Padua or Verona can be visited for day-trips, before you tear yourselves away from Venice, to head south or west with your driver/guide.
Other clients fly to Milan, wanting to experience the shopping there; walk the roof of the huge Cathedral; discover the Cenacolo, the Leonardo da Vinci priceless fresco of the Last Supper.
From Milan, you can head north for a few days on the Italian Lakes.
Some clients devote their entire visit to Florence and Tuscany, making their HQ in Fiesole, perhaps, or in Florence itself. The advantage of being based in Florence is that the glories of Lucca and Pisa are nearby, so, too, are the hills of the Chianti country, and the colourful coastline that is the Italian Riviera, which runs up the Mediterranean coast from Livorno to the frontier with France. San Gimignano with its severe towers and impressive site in the Tuscan Hills, is within reach of Florence.
Alternatively, why not stay in Siena for a few days. Between visits to the city's artistic and architectural delights? It is pleasant to absorb the atmosphere of the Piazza del Campo at one of the many cafes and restaurants. Few places better convey the feel of a vibrant medieval town as you stroll its many gothic streets.
A visit to Assisi, the walled city of St. Francis, must be high on your list. Its two basilicas, with their restored Giotto frescos remain amongst Italy's treasure of treasures.

Naples is there waiting to be explored, especially the vibrant street life of Spaccanapoli -- Old Naples. Discover its ancient palaces, the artwork in churches and museums . Not far away is Pompeii, and then the Amalfi Coast.
